Having successfully negotiated a rigorous fitness assessment on Monday, the twenty-five-year-old paceman has cleared the final hurdle standing between him and a return to international red-ball cricket.
The clearance was formally confirmed by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physiotherapist Mujadded Alfa Sani, who indicated that the medical team has already briefed the team management regarding the fast bowler’s full recovery. With his fitness verified, selectors now face no physical or procedural barriers to considering him for selection when the squad is finalised for the second fixture.
Shariful’s absence from the initial plans for the opening Test stemmed from a Grade 1 hamstring injury sustained during the preceding tour of Zimbabwe. Upon returning home, the young seamer embarked on a dedicated rehabilitation programme under the close supervision of the national medical staff. His diligence through weeks of physical therapy has paid off, allowing him to regain the conditioning required for the demands of Test match cricket.
