Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Vice-President and former national team cricketer Faruk Ahmed has been admitted to hospital after suddenly falling ill. On Sunday night (9 November), he suffered a heart attack and was rushed to United Hospital in the capital.

BCB Director and Chairman of the Media Committee, Amjad Hossain, confirmed the news, saying, “When Faruk bhai suddenly became unwell, he was immediately taken to hospital. After an angiogram was conducted, doctors detected a blockage in his heart and promptly fitted a stent.”

Faruk Ahmed is currently being treated in the hospital’s Coronary Care Unit (CCU). According to doctors, his condition is now stable, and he is expected to be shifted to a cabin soon.

It is worth noting that the former cricketer had also been hospitalised a few years ago after suffering from a previous cardiac episode.
