The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially granted No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to three prominent national cricketers, clearing the way for their participation in various prestigious overseas franchise and county tournaments. The list of approved players includes the seasoned left-arm paceman Mustafizur Rahman, promising young opening batter Parvez Hossain Emon, and disciplined right-arm fast bowler Hasan Mahmud. With a temporary lull in the national team’s international calendar, the board has chosen to facilitate these opportunities to help players gain valuable exposure in different playing conditions.
Mustafizur Rahman is set to make his debut in England’s highly popular 100-ball competition, The Hundred. The clever left-arm seamer, renowned for his deceptive cutters, was secured by Birmingham Phoenix during the tournament draft. According to the itinerary approved by the BCB cricket operations department, Mustafizur has been authorised to play from 20 July to 20 August. Since Bangladesh has no conflicting international fixtures during this one-month window, he will be available to feature in the entire tournament for the Birmingham-based franchise.
Meanwhile, young top-order batsman Parvez Hossain Emon has also received administrative clearance to showcase his talent on the global franchise circuit. Immediately upon concluding his international duties with the national team on their tour of Zimbabwe, Emon will travel to join the Lahore Qalandars squad for the upcoming Global Super League. This move reunites the hard-hitting left-hander with a franchise he knows well, having previously been part of the Lahore Qalandars setup in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In another notable development, English county club Kent Spitfires have re-signed Hasan Mahmud to bolster their bowling attack. The right-arm fast bowler has been contracted to play the final three group-stage matches for the club in the ongoing Vitality Blast T20 tournament. Hasan is already a familiar face at Canterbury, having left a lasting impression during a brief first-class stint in the County Championship earlier. In just two four-day matches for Kent, he claimed an impressive haul of 12 wickets, including a memorable match-winning performance against Lancashire where he ripped through the batting line-up to take six wickets for 69 runs. His exceptional performance with the red ball heavily influenced Kent’s decision to bring him back for the shortest format of the game.
This latest round of clearances reflects a growing trend of Bangladeshi cricketers being in high demand across global domestic leagues. Prior to this announcement, the BCB had already issued NOCs to several senior figures for the Lanka Premier League (LPL), including One-Day International captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Twenty20 captain Litton Das, veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, and speedster Taskin Ahmed. With Mustafizur and Emon now joining this expanding group, the board hopes that the competitive experience gathered by these players in high-pressure overseas tournaments will ultimately benefit the national team in future international campaigns.
